Even through the heat, Melanie Michalak Dressage Clinic a huge success!

Despite the soaring temperatures, riders of all ages, disciplines and levels gathered at Hoofer Equestrian Center July 22nd - 24th to participate in the Melanie Michalak Musical Freestyle Dressage Clinic. Auditors too braved the heat to watch the riders have a lesson with Melanie and then ride through custom-made musical freestyles, some that were designed for international competitors and won awards!

The clinic ran for three days and saw about 20 riders, some riding more than once. Musical samples ranged from classical, to broadway, to jazz, to hard rock, and were matched to the horses footfalls and specific cadence. Armed with her metronome, Melanie took the time to measure and match each team to her musical freestyle collaborations.

Horses and riders alike were hot and sweaty by the end, but the riders were all smiles. No dates are set, but we are talking with Melanie about returning next year for a repeat performance! Subscribe to the HRC e-mail listserve to stay up-to-date with our upcoming event information!
