General Information

HRC Max Come ride with us!

Hoofer Riding Club (HRC) has been the official riding club of the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 1939. The HRC has its own horses and manages the Hoofer Equestrian Center (HEC), a boarding facility with 30 stalls. We offer English riding lessons at all levels in balanced seat, hunt seat, dressage, and jumping. Lessons are offered six days a week, during two sessions each academic semester and during the summer.

The Hoofer Riding Club motto is:

"To nurture our horses today,
To teach for tomorrow,
To embrace excellence always,
To serve our equine community,
For a lifetime of quality service to the UW and Dane county community"

To join the HRC, you can attend a Hoofer Kickoff, stop by the Hoofer Office at the Memorial Union or simply click on the link to the right that says 'Become a Hoofer'! Kickoffs are held at the beginning of each academic semester and are a great way to get acquainted with the club!

The HRC accepts monetary donations as well as donations of equipment, tack, horses, other items of use to the club, and your time. Please see our donation page for more information about how you can become a HRC supporter.
