Volunteer

Hoofer Riding Club Volunteers for tack saleVolunteering with us is a rewarding experience for you and allows our program to continue as it has done for almost 80 years. Spending time with fun people and wonderful horses in a beautiful country setting is hard to beat. Volunteering at HRC could be anything from putting up hay in the barn to washing saddle pads. All ages and skills are welcome, we will find something for everyone, and you are heavily rewarded for your work with free rides on our horses or cash back (check out our Work Hours volunteer program). Anything is possible, and it’s almost always fun!

Adopt a Horse

The Hoofer horses are available to be 'adopted' by club members who would like a more hands-on approach to the program. It's easy to do, just pick a horse, check his or her availability, schedule a ‘check-out’ session and you’re ready to ‘adopt’! Please e-mail the Adopt-A-Horse coordinator for more information about our horses, and visit our Hoofer Horses page to pick the horse for you.

Executive Board

The HRC is volunteer run, meaning that almost everyone involved in running our program is someone just like you. Any current member can join the Exec. Board and help out with events, publications, horse purchasing and more.

Donate your Horse

Donate your horse to the HRC Because our program is run by offering affordable horseback riding lessons to just about anyone, having great horses means a lot to us. Donating your horse to our lesson program helps us to offer excellence in riding instruction and might get you a tax deduction come April. Below is an article about the benefits of donating your horse to a lesson program such as ours.
