Hoofer Equestrian Center The Hoofer Riding Club (HRC) has been the official riding club of the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 1939. The Equestrian Center provides excellent care for the HRC and boarder horses by an experienced, on-site staff. In addition, the HRC provides a learning environment in which riders have the opportunity to experience many different aspects of horsemanship.

The Stable Routine

  • Daily pasture (herd) turnout (mares & geldings turned out separately)
  • Stalls cleaned 7 days/week
  • Three feedings/day (salt lick, pellet feed, & hay provided)
  • Regularly scheduled vet days
  • Biweekly farrier visits by Dean Johanningmeyer
  • Equine Chiropractor, Massage Therapist & Myofascial Release visits
  • Staff can feed supplements, blanket and hold for vet for no extra charge
